Insulating sheet for pipes - has moisture-impermeable outer layer and corrosion-inhibiting inner layer incorporating inorganic salts

An insulating sheet has an outside layer (A) impermeable to moisture, and an inside layer (B) which contains a corrosion inhibitor. (A) and/or (B) are made of insulating material. The corrosion inhibitor in (B) is a mixt. of NaNO2, Na2CO3, and a borate, pref. borax. (B) pref. also contains a latex-based binder. The corrosion inhibiting mixt. pref. contains 4 pts. wt. NaNO2, 1 pt. Na2CO3, and 1 pt. borate. The mixt. pref. also contains sodium benzoate, partic. 0.25 pt. wt. The sheets is an insulator for pipes, etc. around which it forms an envelope, and at the same time protecting them against corrosion even at high temps.
