CALIPERS

Calipers (100) for measuring slaughtered cattle, in particular meat halves, logs, cheese slabs or similar voluminous objects have a beam (101) and a longitudinal slide (102) guided by the beam (101). The beam (101) and the slide (102) both have mutually parallel perpendicularly projecting measurement tips (103, 104). At least one longitudinal graduation located between the beam (101) and the slide (102) interacts with at least one length sensor. The length sensor is connected to an electronic switching means, in particular a mini-calculator (105), arranged on the slide (102) for processing the signals from the sensor. In order to make the calipers suitable for many different applications, the switching means are releasably secured to the slide (102).
