The invention relates to a vehicle wheel which is capable of running flat and which is mounted with a roll radius rs,p and an inclination alpha of the steering nuckle pivot and has a rim with four-drop centre, a pneumatic tyre with a rolling radius ra,p in the inflated state and a support ring which is arranged inside the cavity of the tyre and which in the invent of loss of air pressure limits the reduction in the rolling radius ra to the run-flat rolling radius ra,n, the rolling resistance R of the vehicle wheel being greater when running flat (Rn) than when running with compressed air (Rp).
