PURPOSE: A lateral electric field type LCD device is provided to form data lines connected to a left pixel on the left, and to form data lines connected to a right pixel on the right, based on central common shorting bars, to have a symmetry for left/right pixel configuration, so as to improve picture quality deterioration caused by a falling of common voltages in accordance with each location on a pixel area. CONSTITUTION: Gate lines(40) are arranged to the first direction on a pixel area. Data lines(50) are arranged to the second direction vertical to the first direction on the pixel area. Pixel electrodes(10) are formed on each pixel where the gate lines(40) and the data lines(50) cross over to each other. Common electrodes(20) are formed on the pixels. Common shorting bars are arranged to the second direction on the center of the pixel area, and supply common voltages to the common electrodes(20).
