PURPOSE: To provide a lotion shampoo composition comprising a synthetic surfactant, granular selenium sulfide, xanthane gum, aluminum magnesium silicate and water. CONSTITUTION: This shampoo composition comprises 10-30wt.% synthetic surfactant, 0.1-5.0wt.% selenium sulfide having <25μm average particle diameter, 0.05-1.0wt.% xanthan gum, 0.1-3.0wt.% aluminum magnesium silicate and the balance of water and further optionally comprises 1-10wt.% amide and 0.1-10wt.% unvolatile silicone. The compound is obtained by including above compounds and as necessary, compounding these compounds with a preservative, a thickener, a pH adjuster, a perfume, etc., and preparing the these compounds according to an ordinary method. The surfactant is selected from among anionic, zwitterionic and amphoteric surfactants and mixtures thereof. An alkylsulfate, etc., is exemplified as the surfactant.
