PURPOSE:To eliminate thermal fusion adherence, and to enhance recording image density, light resistance and retentivity by incorporating ethylene-vinyl chloride copolymer in a receiving layer. CONSTITUTION:An image receiving base A is coated with a dye receiving layer B containing ethylene-vinyl chloride copolymer as a main ingredient. Heat sublimable dye is sublimated and diffused from a dye transfer layer 4 of a sublimable transfer recording medium by heating from a thermal head 1, and the sublimated dye is transferred to the dye receiving layer B of the image receiving medium. The sublimable dye transferred to the image receiving medium is diffused in dye coating resin for forming the dye receiving layer B and dyed. The ethylene vinyl chloride copolymer which contains 1-20mol% of content of ethylene is desirable, and about 350-5,000 of average polymerization is adapted. The base A includes, for example, synthetic sheet, art sheet, etc. solely or in a laminate, and the coating amount of the dye receiving layer B on the base A is 0.1-20g/m<2> of solid amount. |
