PURPOSE:To suppress decrease in the rate of active material utilization in a negative electrode without sacrifice of oxidation resistance of an electrolyte by using an organic electrolyte prepared by dissolving lithium fluoroborate in a mixed solvent of gamma-butyrolactone and methyl acetate. CONSTITUTION:In an organic electrolyte battery having a lithium-cobalt composite oxide as the positive active material and lithium or a lithium alloy as the negative active material, an organic electrolyte prepared by dissolving lithium fluoroborate in a mixed solvent of gamma-butyrolactone and methyl acetate is used. By the use of this electrolyte, decrease in the rate of active material utilization in a negative electrode is suppressed, and the organic electrolyte battery having excellent discharge capacity retainability when charge-discharge is repeated is obtained. |
