A hair growth stimulant comprising a benzopyran derivative represented by the general formula (I) or at least one pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein X represents =O, =S, =N-Z (Z being lower alkyl, etc.) or =CHNO2; Y represents substituted amino, alkoxy, alkylthio, etc.; and R1 to R7 represent each hydrogen, lower alkyl, etc. It has an excellent hair growth stimulating effect without being accompanied by side effects and hence is utilized as a medicine for alopecia due to various causes and as a cosmetic. |
