PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a code image reader which can precisely read even a code image displayed on a liquid crystal display. SOLUTION: In the reader for reading the code image displayed on the liquid crystal display, the display face of the code image is irradiated with light rays symmetrically from two or more places by an irradiation means, the code image arranged in the symmetric center of light rays emitted from the irradiation means is fetched as digital data by an image pickup means, the gray scale value of the code image fetched by a peak value acquirement means is analyzed, two peak values are acquired in descending order of gray scale values of respective pixels, and a threshold for separating a background color and a code image display color is calculated based on the two peak values by a threshold calculating means. |
