PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a gas sensor, based on a sensor of a limiting current system, in such a way that its current signal becomes larger than a measurable signal under an ordinary limiting current sensor while the concentration of a gas component can be detected every time. SOLUTION: The sensor element is constituted in such a way that a first means is installed, that, by the first means, a voltage can be applied, especially can be set, across a first electrode and a reference electrode only during a period at a repeated time interval, that a second means is installed and that, by the second means, a current can be measured across the first electrode and another electrode at least occasionally at the repeated time interval. |
