PURPOSE:To provide a spray cleaner for improving the gloss, polish and durability of pearls, comprising a liquid pearl essence containing water-soluble calcium ion, nonionic surfactant, alcohol and water, thus showing high detergent action. CONSTITUTION:This cleaner comprises (A) 2 wt.% of a liquid pearl essence prepared by mixing crushed natural pearl or crushed natural pearl fermented in water with an organic acid having carboxyl groups to dissolve Ca ion and conchiolin substance in the organic solution, then filtering the resulting mixture, (B) 0.5wt.% of a nonionic surfactant, (C) 10wt.% of alcohol and (D) the rest parts of water. When the cleaner is applied to a pearl, stains on the pearl surface are replaced with a monomolecular layer of water and Ca ion and the surface defects are repaired, further the conchiolin in the cleaner penetrates into spaces between pearl layers to bind the layers firmly resulting in increase in light reflection and refractory index of the pearl. |
