The window has one of more panels (10) which rotate around a central axis (11) with watertight seals along the outer edge of the horizontal stiles (12). The seals between the vertical stiles of the panel and the uprights (13) of the frame are designed so that when the rotating panels are closed they extend over one of the front or back sides of the two uprights (13) of the fixed frame. Shaped sections (14) rest against the sides of the upright which ensure that the closure is watertight. They are attached to a mechanism so that they undergo translatory movement from an initial position where they are positioned away from the sides (10a) at right angles to the axis, to a second position which places them against the panels (10), locking them in position. There are watertight seals (15) between the shaped section (14) and the panel (10).
