The thermal insulation of the faces (2) of plane joinery elements (3) comprises an elongated cover (4) having a face (4A) of dimensions equal to that of the receiving face. The cover has an assembly part (5). The assembly part comprises a connecting piece (6) having a reduced thermal conductivity. This piece carries a part (7) which fastens it against the receiving face. The cover has a span (9) complementary to that (8) of the connecting piece. It also has a flexible support part (10) which projects onto a surface (11) from which the joiner element projects. This support extends longitudinally from the cover so as to seal a space between the cover and the projecting surface.
