PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer film which has excellent light transmission, appearance, tensile strength, tensile elongation, and resistance to water vapor permeation and, in addition, excellent adhesion to a polarizing film, and is suitable as a protective film for a polarizing film, and to provide a polarizing film and processes for preparing the polymer film and the polarizing film. SOLUTION: This polymer film is used for the lamination onto a polarizing film and has a light transmission of not less than 80%, a water vapor permeability of not more than 100g/m<2> .24hr, and a strength of bonding to a polarizing film of not less than 5.5kg/cm<2> . The process for preparing the polymer film comprises forming a thermoplastic norbornene resin, with the amt. of bond of arom. ring-contg. monomer units being not less than 20wt.%, into a film. The polarizing film and the process for preparing the same comprises a polymer film laminated onto at least one side of a polarizing film. |
