PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer for dyeing capable of preventing clogging of a head due to drying of ink. SOLUTION: This ink jet printer for manufacturing comprises an ink receiving means provided in a portion out of a range for forming a picture pattern and setting means each setting a quantity of ink to be ejected to the ink receiving means by each ink. Drying of head is prevented such that the ink of which quantity is determined by each ink is periodically ejected to the ink receiving means. A control system for discharging the ink is constituted of a CPU 41 for controlling the whole system, an interface 42 for inputting the external data, a group of memories 43 each storing print data by each nozzle, a group of counters 44 each setting the number of times of ejecting by each nozzle and a group of drivers 45 each controlling ink ejection from the head in accordance with the contents of the memories and counters. The number of times of ejecting corresponding to each ink is preset to each counter in the group of the counters based on a kind of the ink judged by the CPU 41. After the printing of a line is completed, the head ejects the ink for the preset times at a portion opposite the ink receiving means. |
