PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a water hammer from being generated by mounting a nozzle for filling water into spray water pipe in inverse U shape with a lower head than the spray nozzle at the spray water pipe and feeding the pressure of the spray water pipe only from the nozzle for filling water into the spray water pipe when the spray nozzle does not operate. SOLUTION: A spray water pipe 3 is mounted to the upper portion of a heat transfer pipe group 2 in a condenser 1, a spray nozzle 4 in an inverse U shape is mounted onto the spray water pipe 3, and water is filled into the spray water pipe 3 constantly when a curtain spray does not operate, thus preventing water from being drained due to the fall from the spray water pipe 3. Also, a nozzle 5 for filling water into the spray water pipe in inverse U shape is mounted to a position away from the perpendicular upper portion of the heat transfer pipe group 2 of the spray water pipe 3, so that a top part (a head) is at a lower level than the top part of the spray nozzle 4 byΔH. Then, when no curtain spray is made, the pressure of the spray water pipe 3 is allowed to flow only out of the water exit part of the nozzle 5 for filling water.
