摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving device with good driving efficiency in constitution where the magnitude of load is different between the positive and negative driving directions of a member to be driven in a driving device using an electromechanical conversion element (piezoelectric element). SOLUTION: The piezoelectric element is arranged so that a displacement characteristic direction more advantageous between the elongation displacement characteristic and the contraction displacement characteristic of the piezoelectric element may be aligned with the driving direction where the load is large. An X-axis actuator 10 and a Y-axis actuator 20 are arranged on the base frame 1 of a driving mechanism for the correction lens of a camera, so that the lens barrel 2 of the correction lens L is driven in an X-axis direction and a Y-axis direction. The load is larger in the case of driving the correction lens L upward against gravity than in the case of driving it downward. Then, the piezoelectric element of the actuator 20 is arranged so that the more advantageous displacement characteristic direction of the element may be aligned with the driving direction (upward direction) where the load is large.
