PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an installation method for an exchange having a backboard processor, where mistakes such as cable connection error and non-connection or the like which occur with high probability are avoided and also installation of software is done efficiently when installing hardware by using the installation method for an exchange having a backboard processor. SOLUTION: In a system where one backboard processor unit BBPU and pluralities of PWCB (printed circuit board units each having a specific function) are mounted in each shelf, at first a power supply of the BBPU and the backboard is activated (step 1), then cables are connected to the shelf (step 2), the power supply of the PWCB is activated (step 3), information of the PWCB is down-loaded to the BBPU (step 4), and information denoting a mount state of the BBPU of each shelf onto each shelf is transferred to the CPU (step 5). |
