PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain an accurate self-diagnose of errors by considering the relationship between a history of operations stored in a sequential order of operations and a history of errors stored in a sequential order of occurrence. SOLUTION: A microcomputer 2 detects the operations of a recording/ reproducing device body 1 and writes them into an operation history storage memory 5A of a nonvolatile memory 5 in a sequential order of operations. The microcomputer 2 also detects the errors of the body 1 and writes the addresses of the memory 5A storing the error contents and the contents of operations carried out right before producing errors into an error history storage memory 5B in a sequential order of occurrence. In a self-diagnostic mode, the microcomputer 2 reads the operation contents out of the memory 5A, based on the operations of an operation part 3, reads the error contents out of the memory 5B and also secures the relation between the contents of each error and the contents of the operation that is carried out right before occurrence of the error and shows this relationship at a display part 4. As a result, the accurate self-diagnoses of errors can be easily attained. |
