PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor hardly causing the breakage of the electrode terminal of a detecting element and accordingly, trouble such as disconnection hardly occurs. SOLUTION: This gas sensor 1 includes a long detecting element 2 arranged inside a main metal fitting 3 and having a detecting portion D at the end for detecting components to be detected in gas to be measured. To the rear end of the detecting element 2, an electrode terminal 8 is protruded for electric connection to the detecting portion D. The protruded portion of the electrode terminal 8 is folded toward its end along the longitudinal direction of the outer periphery and one end of a conductive member 9 is joined to the folded portion 8a with a joint 40 and extended backward. Around the detecting element 2 inside the main metal fitting 3, a sealing material layer 32 is formed covering the joint 40 between the conductive member 9 and the electrode terminal 8. |
