PURPOSE:To achieve an extension of driving time with the same battery by arranging a power source at least necessary for main operation to be turned ON at each specified time, and 0FF after the passage of a specified time from the turning ON thereof. CONSTITUTION:A timer control section 5 has a time interval T0, for example, upto 90min. per 10min. set to turn ON a power source (awake state) which is supplied to a main operation part 7 of a position measuring device as required and a time interval T1 (awake time) until the power source is turned ON since it is turned OFF, for example, at 20sec. Then, when a power saving function is selected to turn ON the power source at the time T0 interval through a control section 1 from an external input section 3 according to keys inputted and requirements of application section programs of devices and the like, an intermitting operation is repeated until the time T1 expires. The time T0 and T0 are set according to purposes to avoid undesired power consumption without troubles in application thereby enabling the extension of driving time of the apparatus. |
