PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling a direction of a room mirror is provided to prevent preliminarily a traffic affair due to a change of a running direction by controlling the direction of the room mirror in order to compensate a blind spot area according to the change of the running direction. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling a direction of a room mirror comprises a sensing portion(10), a control portion(20) and a rotating portion. The sensing portion(10) senses a light signal generated selectively at a first and second direction change indicating lamps(1a,1b) and outputs a first and second indicating lamp sensing signal(LAMP1,LAMP2). The sensing portion(10) senses a varying amount of a steering wheel and outputs a rotation angular signal(ANGULAR). The control portion(20) converts the first and second indicating lamp sensing signal(LAMP1,LAMP2) and the rotation angular signal(ANGULAR) into a digital signal at an A/D converter(21) and generates a rotation direction control signal and a rotation angle control signal respectively. The rotation direction control signal and the rotation angle control signal are received at a drive circuit(23), and drives a driving motor(31).
