PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball excellent in flying performance through the optimization of dimples. SOLUTION: In a golf ball with dimples in partitioned triangular areas as array units when a spherical surface is fictitiously formed into a substantially regular icosahedron or pseudo icosahedron, first dimples 1 of minimum diameter are arranged almost around the meeting positions of the vertexes V of five partitioned triangles, and second dimples 2 larger in diameter than the first dimples are uniformly arranged close around the first dimples 1. At the time of describing a pentagon around the above-mentioned meeting position of the vertexes, enclosing the uniformly arranged second dimples 2, the average depth of the dimple 1 within a pentagonal area is to be 85% or less of the average depth of the dimples 1 formed in a remaining area outside of the pentagonal area.
|
