The method involves providing a burn-in rack (10) with working cells (12) next to a Simple Network Management Protocol network device (18) with a number of ports; connecting cables between ports and working cells; connecting a monitor to one port; attaching a computer to at least one cell and connecting it to the corresponding cable; connecting the monitor to a burn-in rack database; and displaying a visual occupancy representation of each cell on a visual display screen.
