PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to remove mud and dust sticking to a tatami (a mat) front before shipping by including a casing and a plurality of brushes for cleaning which exist within the casing, are rotatable and move in the casing while rotating. SOLUTION: The coating device consists of a brushing device 2 which has a plurality of the brushes 14 within the freely vertically movably disposed casing 1 and are arranged with the brushes 14 movably within the casing 1 while rotating and a dust collector which is coupled to the casing 1 via a duct. The rotation of the brushes 14 of the brushing device 2 starts scraping the mud and dust on the tatami front by descending of the casing 1 and the brushes 14 are moved by a chain 13, by which the mud and dust are scraped out over the entire width of the tatami in a approximately orthogonal with the progression of the tatami. The rotating speed of the brushes 14 of this time is set sufficiently higher than the moving speed by the chain 13, by which an effect of polishing up the tatami front is exhibited together with the scraping of the mud and dust. The scraped mud and dust are sucked by the dust collector via the duct.
