PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the speed-change performance at low oil temperatures in a continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: A speed change control unit 80 for controlling a speed ratio infinite continuously variable transmission having a continuously variable transmission mechanism 2 capable of continuously varying the total speed ratio from the advancing to the reversing, a speed-change control means driven by a step motor 35 and changing a speed ratio of the continuously variable transmission mechanism 2, and the step motor 36 corresponding to the driving condition, all coils 36a and 36b of the step motor 36 are energized, after a position of the step motor 36 is initialized in detecting the start of an engine.
