PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a semiconductor light source in which influence of mode jump is prevented by simple constitution, and a measuring apparatus using the light source. SOLUTION: In this invention, a semiconductor laser light source for obtaining optical output from a semiconductor laser is improved. This equipment has a control part which detects, on the basis of optical output of the semiconductor laser, that a mode jump current value has entered a prescribed current range, and executes at least one from among alarm output and change of value of a driving current in the semiconductor laser.
