PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speed up and facilitate operations of carrying from a sorting conveyer to a predetermined casing position and casing. SOLUTION: The sorter includes a detecting means for classifying fruits or the like to be sorted which are carried by a sorting conveyer in classes, a pack conveyer placed in the vicinity of the sorting conveyer for supplying empty packs, a transfer means for transferring a plurality of the fruits in each class into a pack waiting on the pack conveyer and a return conveyer for returning the pack with the fruits transferred from a predetermined casing position.
