Panel manufacturing procedure, e.g. for vehicle rear parcel shelf, consists of covering rigid support with supple material and overlapping edges

The procedure consists of covering each of the faces of a rigid support (1) e.g. of a cellular material with a layer of a supple material such as a textile (2) on the top and a non-woven material (3) on the bottom, with the edges of the supple layers projecting over the corners of the support. The edges of the supple layers of material are then trimmed, folded over and stuck down, with the edges of the textile material covering the edges of the non-woven material. The folding and sticking processes can be automated with an air flow and a cam-actuated pressure foot.
