PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of keeping a carcass line approximately uniform on a circumference of the tire while suppressing light trouble in vulcanizing even when the volume of a projection part and a recessed part forming a sign is made to be approximately same. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire is provided with a sign M formed with the projection part 9 and the recessed part 10 on a surface 2a of a sidewall part 2. The ratio A1/A2 between the section area A1 of the projection part 9 and the section area A2 of the recessed part 10 is set to be from 0.8 to 1.2 based on the extended surface along the surface 2a of the sidewall part 2. A wall surface at the projection part 10 side of the recessed part 10 is formed to be an inclined surface 10a becoming shallow toward the projection part 10 side, and the angle with respect to the surface 2a of the side wall part 2 of the inclined surface 10a is set to be from 20 to 50°.
