PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a fluorescent film of superior characteristics with high brightness which has less deterioration, and an image display device of superior picture quality. SOLUTION: In a component of green color light emitting fluorescent film among RGB tri-color light emitting fluorescent films, a Y<SB>2</SB>SiO<SB>5</SB>:Tb phosphor is contained, and the average specific gravity of the phosphor particles composing the RGB tri-color phosphor light emitting fluorescent film is set to be 4.5 g/cm<SP>3</SP>or more. With the specific gravity of this value or more, the glass coloring becomes reduced sufficiently to a practically usable value. Furthermore, by forming a layer composed of an oxide with the thickness of 0.5μm or less on the fluorescent film side of the face panel, the effect can be made significant.
