PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find a magnet without losing the magnet by changing sensitivity, even when finding the magnet by using a plurality of kinds of sensitivities. SOLUTION: The magnet finder is provided with Hall elements X1-X4 and Y1-Y4 for generating a voltage, based on the intensity of detected magnetic flux rays by detecting the magnetic flux ray of the magnet 17. In addition, in the magnet finder, a microcomputer measures voltage of each sensitivity (low sensitivity, intermediate sensitivity and high sensitivity) of each of Hall elements X1-X4 and Y1-Y4, and calculates the calculation values E2 for each of the Hall elements X1-X4 and Y1-Y4, by using all each of the sensitivities measured with each of the Hall elements X1-X4 and Y1-Y4. Successively, the user recognizes the direction in which the magnet 17 exists, on the basis of the calculation values E2 calculated on each of the Hall elements X1-X4 and Y1-Y4 by an LED lamp L.
