PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide impalpable strontium carbonate fine powder. SOLUTION: The strontium carbonate fine powder has an average projected area-equivalent diameter of primary particles of 5-80 nm and a variation coefficient to the average projected area-equivalent diameter within 40%. The strontium carbonate fine powder can be produced by a production method including: a step of obtaining strontium carbonate particles by introducing CO2gas into an aqueous solution or suspension of strontium hydroxide having a strontium hydroxide concentration of 1-20 mass% at a flow rate of 0.5-200 ml/min per 1 g of strontium hydroxide in the aqueous solution or suspension while stirring the aqueous solution or suspension to carbonate the strontium hydroxide; and a step of pulverizing the strontium carbonate particles using ceramic beads having an average particle diameter of 10-1,000μm in an aqueous medium and then carrying out drying.
