PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging material which has both design properties, shape holding properties and dehydrating function, and can be stably produced. SOLUTION: The packaging material 10 has a high osmotic pressure substance 13 between a substrate sheet 11 and a semi-permeable membrane 12 whose peripheral edge part S is sealed with this substrate sheet 11. As the substrate sheet 11, a sheet of paper whose density is 0.6-1 g/cm3and weight per unit area is 50-150 g/m2or a resin sheet whose weight per unit area is 50-150 g/m2is used.
