PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label issuing apparatus which gives a print roller a stable grip on a pasteboard carrying labels pasted thereon to carry out a highly precise printing process. SOLUTION: A measuring printer 1 is the label issuing apparatus operating in such a way that a label sheet LS is pulled out of a label storage unit 31 by transfer rollers 43 and 44, the label storage unit 31 carrying a roll formed by rolling the elongated label sheet LS bearing a plurality of labels L pasted thereon at given intervals, and is transferred to a print head 41 arranged counter to a print roller 42, where the print head 41 carries out a printing process on the labels L, and then is transferred to a label winding unit 32, which winds up the label sheet LS stripped of the labels L. The transfer speed of the transfer rollers 43 and 44 arranged upstream from the print roller 42 is determined to be slower than the transfer speed of the print roller 42. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
