PURPOSE: A method for controlling tilt servo in a DVD(Digital Versatile Disc) system is provided to optimize distortion between an information surface and an objective lens in a PUH(Pick Up Head) caused by a bend of a disk on data reading, based on jitter information, so as to minimize a data reading error. CONSTITUTION: Whether a data reading error is generated is checked(S101). If not, tilt servo is not performed(S102). If a data reading error is generated. A jitter value A in a current position is read(S103). An angle of an objective lens is moved upward(in a + direction) by 1 step, and a jitter value B is read(S104). The jitter values A and B are compared(S105). If the jitter value A is not more than the jitter value B, an angle of the objective lens is moved in a + direction and tilt servo is performed(S106). If the jitter value A is more than jitter value B, an angle of the objective lens is moved in a - direction by 1 step, and a jitter value C is read(S107). The jitter values A and C are compared(S108). If the jitter value A is not more than the jitter value C, an angle of the objective lens is moved in a - direction and tilt servo is performed(S109). If the jitter value A is more than the jitter value C, an angle of the objective lens is controlled by 1/2 step in a direction opposite to a corresponding direction(S110). If the adjusted step reaches a preset threshold value, tilt servo is ended(S111).
