PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the behavior of balls from the time when the balls being phased to be jumped to the outermost side at the maximum operating angle are removed from track grooves of an outer ring until they are restored in the track grooves again. SOLUTION: This fixed type constant velocity universal joint comprises the outer ring 10 having the plurality of track grooves 14 in an inner spherical face 12, an inner ring 20 having a plurality of track grooves 24 in an outer spherical face 22, the plurality of balls 30 laid between the outer ring 10 and the inner ring 20 for transmitting torque, and a cage 40 laid between the outer ring 10 and the inner ring 20 for holding the balls 30. The opening side groove bottoms of the track grooves 14 of the outer ring 10 are tapered, and the corner side groove bottoms of the track grooves 24 of the inner ring 20 are tapered. The track grooves 14 of the outer ring 10 are made shorter, whereby an offset amount f<SB>1</SB>of an outer spherical face 42 of the cage 40 is made greater than an offset amount f<SB>2</SB>of an inner spherical face 44 of the cage 40 in relation to the balls 30 which are phased to be jumped to the outermost side at the maximum operating angle and removed from the track grooves 14.
