PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the power consumption of a portable information device. SOLUTION: In pixels, a plurality of storage circuits are arranged and digital video signals are stored by the pixels. When a still picture is displayed, the picture is written once and then the information written to the pixels is the same, so the still picture can continuously be displayed by reading the signals out of the storage circuits without inputting signals by frames. Namely, when the still picture is displayed, signals of at least one frame are processed and then a source signal line driving circuit can be stopped thereafter, and accompanying this, the power consumption can greatly be reduced. |
