A gas turbine power generation system, which can suppress an increase in the number of revolutions of a gas turbine easily upon occurrence of a sudden drop in gas turbine load, comprises a gas turbine (2), a generator (7) connected, in order to be able to transmit a rotating force, to the gas turbine (2), a fuel gas compressor (5) for compressing fuel gas being supplied to the gas turbine (2), a motor (9) for driving the fuel gas compressor (5), a first driving feeder line (16) for supplying power from the generator (7) to the motor (9), and a system controller for controlling the operation of the gas turbine (2).
