A map information processor comprises a map data storage means (3) for storing map data, a main update difference data acquiring means (4) for acquiring main update difference data representing the difference between main update original map data which is map data to be subjected to main update and map data to be obtained by the main update during the main update, a sub-update difference data acquiring means (5) for acquiring sub-update difference data representing the difference between map data to be subjected to sub-update and map data to be obtained by the sub-update during the sub-update, and a map information processing means (6) for updating the map data stored in the map data storage means on the basis of the sub-update difference data, returning the map data updated on the basis of the sub-update difference data to the main update original map data, and updating it on the basis of the main update difference data for storage in the map data storage means.
