PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface sheet for an absorbable article, capable of rapidly performing the diffusion of a liquid and the transfer of the liquid in a thickness direction by allowing a configuration fiber to have density gradient in multiple directions. SOLUTION: This invention relates to the surface sheet for the absorbable article, which is made of a fiber material and where multiple emboss parts are formed. An upper layer and a lower layer including thermally contracted heat-shrinkable fiber are laminated and joined by the emboss parts. Multiple projections 6 are formed on the upper layer surface. Each projection 6 has a peak 61 at the substantially center part of an area enclosed by three or more emboss parts 4A-4D. Emboss contours 43, which are the contours of the emboss parts 4A-4D on the side of the projection 6 and whose number is≥3, have a shape bent and curved toward the projection 6 and are formed to enclose the projection 6. Middle parts 62A-62D, where the density of the surface sheet is higher than that of the peak 61 of the projection, are formed between the respectively adjacent emboss parts enclosing the projection 6.
