PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of appropriately allowing an observer to view information indicated by a virtual image even when the virtual image is displayed across a border of an area visible with only one eye and an area visible with both eyes.SOLUTION: A virtual image display device 100 displays an intermediate image on a screen 3 according to light beams emitted from a projector 2, and irradiates substantially the whole area of a concave mirror 4 with light beams for composing the intermediate image. The virtual image display device 100 then sets the luminance in a right-eye intermediate image area CR and a left-eye intermediate image area CL to be higher than that in a both-eyes vision intermediate image area CB, so that a right-eye virtual image area IVR and a left-eye virtual image area IVL are displayed relatively brighter than a both-eyes vision virtual image area IVB.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
