PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peripheral monitoring device for a work machine capable of more intelligibly notifying an operator of a situation of an object in the surroundings.SOLUTION: An image generation device 100 which generates an output image based on an input image picked up by a camera 2 to be attached to a shovel 60 comprises: an object detection sensor 6 which is attached to the shovel 60 and detects an object existing in the surroundings of the shovel 60; and highlighting means 12 for specifying the object detection sensor 6 which detects the object when the object is detected by the object detection sensor 6 and highlights a predetermined area of the output image according to its specification result. |
