A method of drilling a subterranean well using a fluid pressure transmission pill in conjunction with an oil-based drilling fluid, the method comprising: providing a fluid phase pressure transmission pill comprising: a fluid phase; a thixotropic viscosifying agent; an emulsifier and/or a wetting agent; a fluid loss control additive; and a weighting agent; and using the oil-based drilling fluid to drill a well bore in a subterranean formation.
