This disclosure relates to an improved prechamber device for an internal combustion engine. The prechamber device is positioned adjacent to a combustion chamber. The improved prechamber device is configured to improve removal of heat from the prechamber device, particularly in the area adjacent to the combustion chamber.

1. A prechamber device for an internal combustion engine, comprising:
a shell formed of a first material; and a core inside the shell, the core having a higher thermal conductivity than the first material, wherein the shell includes:
an interior wall having an internal surface opposite an external surface, the internal surface defining a chamber;an exterior wall having an internal surface opposite an external surface, the exterior wall having an opening providing fluid communication between the internal surface and the external surface of the exterior wall; anda distal end connecting the interior wall and the exterior wall, the distal end having an internal surface opposite an external surface, the external surface of the interior wall, the internal surface of the distal end, and the internal surface of the exterior wall defining a cavity between the interior wall and the exterior wall, and wherein the core is positioned within the cavity in physical contact with the external surface of the interior wall and the internal surface of the exterior wall, and the core is exposed to an exterior of the prechamber device through the opening of the exterior wall.
