The seal consists of a groove at the top edge of the lower container, and filled with the liquid sealing medium. A sealing flap at the cover of the lower container is immersed into the groove, as well as a sealing flap on the floor of the top container, in case both containers are connected. The top cover has a soft front face seal, which with its external radial extension rests on the edge of the aperture of the top container floor. With connection of both containers, the seal engages with its internal section on the external edge of the lower cover. The system is partic. useful for handling radioactive materials.
