Electrofilter removing fly ash from flue gases - with ultrasonic irradiator on inlet duct giving ninety nine per cent overall efficiency

On the gas inlet duct of an electrostatic precipitator removing dust from a gas stream there is an ultrasonic irradiator operating at 18-20 kHz frequency. Device is used for removal of fly ash from boiler and furnace flue gases. Overall dust removal efficiencies of 99% can be achieved. The effectiveness of older installations can be improved and new units can operate at higher gas velocities and can thus be smaller and cheaper.
