A carrier plate (2) rotating about an axis (1) carries fixed (3, 6, 8) and movable (5, 7) support elements which impart a parabolic curvature to reflective strips (4) situated thereabove. Owing to the rotation, the reflective strips simulate a coherent parabolic mirror. The rate of rotation and the number of strips are selected such that no flickering occurs. <IMAGE>
