AIR FILTER OF AIR BYPASS VALVE

PURPOSE: An air filter of an air bypass valve is provided to reduce noise by absorbing pressure of air flowing from a turbocharger through the bypass valve to an air cleaner with the air filter in releasing an accelerator pedal momentarily during traveling. CONSTITUTION: A front part of an intercooler is connected to a rear part of an air cleaner through a bypass line, and an air bypass valve(10) is formed in the middle of the bypass line. Air from the intercooler is circulated to the rear part of the air cleaner with opening the air bypass valve in closing a throttle valve. An air filter(20) is installed in an outlet(18) of the air bypass valve to damp noise from air stream. The air filter is formed of a plastic or aluminum disk of 2-4mm, and plural holes(21) are formed in the disk. The clearance between holes is about 1.2-2mm. Air is circulated from the intercooler through the air bypass valve to the air cleaner in releasing an accelerator pedal momentarily during accelerating. Noise is reduced with reducing the flow rate of air by the air filter.
