<p>PURPOSE:To permit an efficient removal of carbon dioxide by bringing a carbon dioxide containing gas into contact with a adsorbing consisting mainly of zinc oxide, aluminum oxide and alkali metals molding in the presence of water. CONSTITUTION:A molding is formed consisting of three main constituents, i.e., zinc oxide, aluminum oxide and alkali metals in such proportions that the product comprises about 0.05-0.40 atoms of aluminum per atom of zinc and about 0.05-0.40 atoms of alkali metals per atom of zinc. Such a molding is baked at a temperature of about 210-450 deg.C in a stream of air or desired refining gas into an adsorbent. A water-containing gas is passed through or water is added to such adsorbent packed in an adsorbing cylinder, whereby carbon dioxide, water and other impurities can be removed from the gas by adsorption and the adsorbent is regenerated for reuse for repetitive adsorbing refining of gas.</p> |
